Annotation:  Danielle, her little brother, and her parents have just moved into a new home.  The house is very old and very big.  The house has a secret and Danielle needs to figure it out.

Book Talk:  Danielle and her little brother, Peter, are like any normal pair of siblings.  They play fight, they argue, and sometimes they wish the other wasn’t there.  Danielle jokes about how she wishes she were an only child, and one day she gets he wish; sort of. 

The house that Danielle and her family just moved into is big, old, and a little spooky.  She hears voices coming from the basement calling for her brother.  One day Danielle and her best friend hypnotize Peter.  It was just for fun, but it becomes a nightmare.  Slowly, Peter starts to change and people begin to forget him.  Danielle is scared and she only wants to protect him.  When she finds him in his room pacing and confused, he grabs her and pleads, “Danielle, don’t forget me.  Please-don’t forget me!
